Utilizing search

Would using MOSS search and Metadata Property Mappings yield any performance improvements? I was playing with the faceted search project and they sort of do the same thing as tags but just present it differently.

That yould probably improve the performance, and most definitely improve scalability (since the search engine answers in a quasi constant time, even when the number of doucments in its base grows).

However this approach has several drawbacks
* To install it, farm administrators need to add a managed metadata property ; and then they need to reindex the full content
* Indexation is not necessarly "every 5 minutes" (Some farm administrators index the content only the night for instance). Hence freshness of the cloud is better with a Caml query rather than the search engine.

Also performance looks really good with a well written Caml query and cache.

Obviously, another project based on the search engine would be an interesting one, though.
